Status Update

| May 15th, 2011

Anyone who has taken a look will see that there has been a lull in activity, both development and otherwise.  I have been having loads of computer problems in the past couple of months, main systems down, backup systems going out, backups to the backups, not a pretty site.  Luckily the servers that host this site and others have been fine.  Now that I am getting things back up and running in my lab, I hope to get back to making progress on this project.  Even the small number of files that have been released have already come in handy for me, I am a prisoner in the Windows world at times.  I hope some of you out there have found some benefit as well, and will continue to as we make more and get better.  Come back soon!

New files released!

| October 18th, 2010

It’s been a couple weeks, and I had some trouble with the SourceForge site and uploads, but we made it and we have some good stuff for you. We have an update to the “ls” executable, and brought two new commands “cp” and “mv” for you to play with. Please keep in mind that all of these files are not even Beta ready yet, they work but have not been tested as thoroughly as they ultimately will be. Plus, not all features have been implemented yet (far from it), for example, the cp and mv commands ONLY work on single files, wildcard and recursive operations have not been added yet but hopefully soon. One more thing, for everyone’s convenience, I have uploaded an archive (self extracting) as well, so you can grab all of the compiled and source files in one easy shot. So, grab the new files (https://sourceforge.net/projects/nix32/files/), play with them and enjoy. Be sure to let us know of any bugs or errors you find.

Update 2010.10.09

| October 9th, 2010

Okie Dokie, we now have the nix32 at SourceForge web page (not the project page) re-directing here to our nix32.org domain.  Hopefully this will allow us to centralize most if not all information in one spot, aside from news and update postings which will be duplicated both here and at SF when we see a need to.  I have some new files to be released probably tomorrow (Saturday, so today really), can’t wait to add a few more commands to the list!  If you have any questions, problems, etc, let me know.

Changes …

| October 7th, 2010

No, not the song.  However, I am making some changes.  I dig the cool stuff that SourceForge gives us to play with, but the web page controls/offerings have been a pain in the arse so far so I went ahead and stood up a lil’ WordPress install on one of my servers.  This will let me keep the site updated and share news easier.  Don’t worry, I’ll still post news and files to SF, and the bug tracker and other tools will still be running too.  For now though, the main repo for information about the nix32 project is here (nix32.org).  Come on along, leave a comment and even join the team and help out!

Welcome to nix32!

Greetings and welcome to the new site for the nix32 project.  I am just getting things setup, so more will be coming soon …
